GBG Presents was originally a podcast series that would rotate around 2-3 types of shows. The GBG Presents… series was meant to focs on something somewhat different than The Good, The Bad & The Geeky! or more hyper-focused, or in some cases, weren’t meant to even feature Nick. They were…
- The No Name Show with DJ Meat
- The Last Supper (featuring Nick and Jon Bettin)
- The Good News, Everyone! Podcast
Each “series” had around 5-8 episodes each. Each show was meant to continue (except The Last Supper), but scheduling future episodes became problematic due to time constraints and as such, the overall GBG Presents series was canceled.
Until… as a writing exercise, Nick began wanting to hone his craft for writing for It’s All Been Done Radio Hour. Being that the classic Rocky & Bullwinkle series was technically a radio series with poor animation set to it, Nick watched a few episodes on Hulu (where it was available at the time) and transcribed a few episodes out, and started dissecting it, studying it, etc. Not only did he become a die-hard fan of the classic duo, he began to write a fan-version of the series, a sequel to to the 2000’s live action film which in itself was a sequel to the original series from the early 60’s. It was here that the GBG Presents feed was utilized for the new podcast series The Magically Unauthorized Misadventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.
