It all started when… -one day local Columbus writer/performer Nick Arganbright began to reminisce the days back in his teenage years where he played tabletop paper, pen and dice role-playing games. Taking it upon himself, he decided to re-visit some of the games for fun… luring some of his local Columbus, Ohio theater friends and colleagues to play if it was recorded. And Opposing Rolls was born.
Opposing Rolls is an Almost Actual Play podcast released in ‘seasons’, found on http://www.opposingrollspod.com. Each season features a different Role Playing Game Campaign or Game System. Sometimes that Campaign is continued in a different season, other times it could just be a one-shot. The players and Game Master could also change as well, depending the campaign.
We use the term “Almost” Actual Play as we split each recorded session and edit out any pauses, other table-talk that slows down pacing and/or we re-record dialogue due to audio error or GM-discretion (to make things more clear), or to add more professional audio quality, the GM may ask different actor-friends record lines of Non-Player Characters (NPCs).
The first season of Opposing Rolls features Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game originally created by West End Games and recently republished by Fantasy Flight Games.
